Privacy Policy

HelpDo (“HelpDo,” “we,” “us”) is a productivity app for tracking goals and to-dos, planning your day, and getting help from people you invite. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using HelpDo you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details: email address, username, and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored in plain text).
- Optional profile details: city, country, short bio, and a chosen cartoon avatar.
- Your content: goals, to-dos, day-planner entries, daily notes, metrics, activities, top-todos, and messages you send to people who help you.
- Support & feedback: suggestions, feedback, or reports you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Device push token: if you enable notifications, we store an Expo push token so we can deliver alerts. You can turn notifications off at any time.
- Preferences: theme, language, and notification settings.
- Usage counters: a monthly count of built-in AI-advice requests, used only to apply fair-use limits.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not sell your personal information.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the app's core features and sync your data across your devices.
- To enable the help network — sharing the specific goal data you choose with the helpers you invite.
- To send push notifications you've opted into (new help requests and messages).
- To generate AI advice when you explicitly request it (see Section 4).
- To enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and respond to your support requests.
3. How your data is shared
- People you invite.When you invite a helper to a goal, they can view that goal's data (and edit it, if you grant edit access). You control who is invited and can revoke access at any time. Blocking a user ends the relationship both ways.
- Service providers (sub-processors). We use Supabase for database, authentication, and real-time sync; Expo for push-notification delivery; and Anthropic only when you request AI advice. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
- Legal. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and service.
4. AI Advice and your data
AI advice is off by default and opt-in per request.Nothing is sent to an AI provider automatically. When you tap “Generate advice” for a specific goal, we send only that goal's relevant context (its to-dos, recent completion history, metric trends, and your notes for that goal) to the AI provider for that single request.
- AI requests are routed through our server to Anthropic using our key. We do not use your content to train any AI model.
5. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual goals, notes, and messages at any time. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data and associated content, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal obligations. 6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted by row-level security so that users can only reach their own data and the specific data shared with them. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
7. Your choices & rights
- Edit your profile and content, or delete content, at any time in the app.
- Turn notifications on or off in Profile settings.
- Turn off “Receive help requests” or block specific users.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. We honor valid requests regardless of location.
8. Children
HelpDo is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
